My birthday is this week and that means my license will expire. Iowa allows people to renew online now and use the same photo if no major changes have occurred since your last renewal. They’ve also changed from a 3-year renewal cycle to an 8-year cycle. My last renewal was when I turned 29 and now I won’t have to renew again until I’m 40. That means I’ll be 29 for 11 years.

According to your logic I have been 19 for, well, since before the millenium. We don’t have to renew drivers licenses ever, so everybody has a pretty youthful pic in their license, no matter their age. I only had to get a new one about a year after first getting my license because it got wet and the paper of the pic stuck to one side and the colour stuck to the other (they are folded).

My dad has had the same picture since 1998. Since then, he lost most of his hair, gained a lot of weight, and the hair he has left is turning gray. I think he’s getting a new card this year. For privacy, I won’t post a pic, but it’ll be a big difference.

I had to get a new photo taken for my license this year. The sixteen year old version of CB and the 21 year old version of CB look almost exactly the same.
